Destination Wedding Photographer

It is very common now for wedding couples to want to host their ideal destination wedding at a different country simply for its unique cultural or geographic flair. Granted that you were to look for a destination wedding photographer in any part of North America, Europe and Australasia, then finding an English speaking photographer might be easier. However, if you have your heart set for anywhere else in the world – such as South America, Caribbean, or Hong Kong – it might be totally different unless you do know how to speak Mandarin or Cantonese. These two dialects are widely spoken in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan & China.

When it comes to wedding, having a Creative and Professional Wedding Photographer is as important as booking a hall, buying a wedding dress, booking a wedding cake, inviting your friends and family for the occasion and ordering food and drinks for the event. Because these are the moments which you will never get back in your life again. It happens once in a life time. For capturing those beautiful moments in the pictures you need to hire a Destination Wedding Photographer who will capture your wedding through his camera and present to you as the most beautiful wedding gift and that is because these photographs is the only thing which will remain forever with you.

Normally planning all these takes at least a year and you may require a wedding planner to do it for you if you have budget and always do remember that being the bride, you must take things easy on your wedding day. Do not panic and do loose your cool. Everything will go through smoothly and you will be surprised the day ends very quickly without you knowing it. So... remember, planning your wedding day and engage your Destination Wedding Photographer is important and believe me, this year 10.10.10 and 20.10.2010 are two big dates that will keep everyone busy. Book early, plan early.

Derek + Grace Pre-Wedding

This is a pre-wedding photo shoot with Derek & Grace last Saturday. This is quite a last minute photo shoot arrangement as time passes so quickly that I have been busy with my other backlog assignments. Still, I would suggest to everyone to book your pre-wedding and actual day wedding photographer early to avoid disappointment.

I will be away to Bali, Indonesia for actual day and portrait photography next weekend and I will be back again to Bali from 9 - 12 October 2010 for portrait photography as well as for those who would like to capture their memorable pre-wedding in Bali, do write to me. I might stay a bit longer in Bali to take your pre-wedding photo. Yes, again... plan early. Do check my schedule from time-to-time as I have been getting quite a number of bookings for end of the year and early next year in 2011.

For those who wished to have their wedding portrait or pre-wedding to be taken in Melbourne or other countries, feel free to write to me as well. Oh, why I mentioned about Melbourne? You don't have to pay for my lodging there. Its already provided so that saves you some cost. :o)

29 May 2010 + Year 2011 Bookings + Photobook

- 29 May 2010 -
Hi everyone! It's amazing that 29th May 2010 is listed as my highest number of enquiries that stood at 25. Sorry for those whom I am unable to capture for you as I am already booked for this date long time ago. I will not be able to recommend them other wedding photographer unless the wedding photographer is qualified and they do not charge exorbitant fees for a wedding.

- Year 2011 Bookings -
For those early birds, early booking is highly appreciated for Year 2011 as it will be the Year of Rabbit and many chinese would get married on this wonderful year. And yes, I am born in the Year of Rabbit and for those who wished to engage a wedding photographer, make sure you do that early and my pricing will be revised again on June 30, 2010.

- Photobook -
Do please note that I do not use Photobook as most other photographers in the market in Malaysia or Singapore as the book is either printed using HP Indigo machines or Xerox DCC 5500 which I totally not in favour of this technology. First, their paper is thin. Second, there is no protection on the prints (eg. lamination etc.) and Third, it's thin and looks cheap. It's nice to be a called a "coffee table", not a photobook but it has been called a "photobook" by several companies who produced them. Again, this "coffee table" book is not my cup of tea and therefore my type of album is based on pre-wedding quality ones.

Han Poh + Sze Uarn Wedding Day, Johor Bahru

The last time I was in Johor Bahru (JB) for a wedding was about 2 years ago and things has definately changed. This is the biggest city down south of Peninsular Malaysia. Never that I knew this city has became a "happening place"! The road infrastructure, there business and property has definitely improved a lot for the past couple years.

Han Poh & Sze Uarn, both residing in UK came back to their hometown - Pekan Nenas in Pontian to get married and they got me as their actual day wedding photographer a few months ago. It was a smooth ride to Sze Uarn's place in the morning of 6th March. I am always the early bird as I got there at 5:30am. The whole wedding event went through well, including some great portrait shots I have taken for them after their wedding luncheon. I left Gelang Patah by 7pm. That's more than 12 hours I have worked that day. Yep, it was tiring alright but I got what I wanted - wonderful images for the wedding day.

[below image] Yep! Renminbi (RMB) is used for actual day. Its still valid paper money though but of course, "chi mui" didn't accept it. It was rejected. Anyways, finally the groom managed to go through all those barrier. Below images are selected ones which I would like to share with all of you. Remember though, actual wedding day photography is not just images of the event but it includes the intimate moment between two hearts who will be spending the rest of their life together.

I have more but I can't add in my web blog until their actual wedding day in July and of course, a few more amazing images which I will participate in the next international wedding photography competition.

Desert Rose King

Many of you might figure what is the picture doing in my web blog? Only a handful of you who do knows me very well that I am a flower lover but not just any flowers out there. I have grown "adenium obesum" and "abaricum" for many years and will get involve in cultivation of adenium flowers in Malaysia. In Malaysia we call this plant "Desert Rose" or "Fu Kui Hua" in Mandarin. We will have at least 2000 plants by middle of 2011 and more than 100 different hybrids. Will update you the new website of adenium by end of the year.

Turning a hobby into a business is something not many people will do. Being an entrepreneur settling in one business is never enough. Being a photographer myself, I have always push myself to the limits by taking more memorable photo for each and every wedding I attended and making sure that every wedding photo an "award winning pictures". This gives me the utmost satisfaction. I have told many photographers out there thinking capturing wedding photos are those who makes quick "bucks" and that is not what I wanted to do. It is the "satisfying feel " that what I wanted in life and each and everyone of us must enjoy what we do. If you don't, then move on and find something that makes your life happy!

I have been away for Chinese New Year holidays for the past 2 weeks and those 2 weeks has been an enriching week. I have learnt about "Effective Microorganisms" EM-1 and EM-A. On top of that, I had hands-on on "grafting" adeniums and learning how to use hand pollination. But no worry folks, wedding photography is still a part of me. I'm a person who kicks 3 balls with one leg. That's what I call "pushing myself to the limits". The sky is the limit and it is up to us what we want to achieve in life. I hope that what I written here will motivate some of you to do what you think you would like to do for business. But you must always remember that whatever you do for a living, money is comes second.
